Wow – all of this upheaval because of that small piece of tissue. That’s amazing! Well the end result is what we care about, we have “our Dan” 🙂 Love Pam

    Dear Dan, Nancy & Family,

It is just wonderful that things have gone so well with Dan’s surgery and progress.
Thank you so much for taking the great effort to provide us with the information about his progress.

Dan, my friend, we knew you would pull it off – you have so much left to to do so get well quickly and get back “on the horse” full time.

We are thinking about you and the family – you our in our prayers..

Well, Nancy, I knew you wanted to see everything but I didn’t know they would do this! I’m so jealous that he has a photo collection of his old liver and I didn’t get one. Did you get a pic of the new one??

    Dan:

We have held you close in prayers along with your family and all your other friends. What great progress you’ve made! Keep it up–we expect you to be in the academic procession with us for SNC graduation.

    Warmest wishes,

    Kathryn

YUK! Not a particully nice phote…but if that spot caused all the problem, glad they took it all out
And Nancy, this sort of reminds me of another episode in the lives of Jim’s 3 wives in SA….do you recall the Cardiac Surgeon who was showing us the heart valves he had just removed from another patint? Why do we care what the Bad parts look like…it is just to be happy that the badoes were replaced with good ones. Or maybe at that time, that SA dr. was uusing it as a pick-up inee…if Jim had 3 wives, why not him?) :)”

Dan keep getting better and maybe home tomorrow???????

    Ur NJ loved ones,
    Jim & Louise

Well, we’ve prayed, laughed at the first post after surgery( we could picture you and the gang)
and gotten very teary over all that has happened with you, Dan. ( and family) Loved the picture of you and your ipad and iphone. We know you’re feeling better now! Good bye to that old liver– it saw you through some good times. Hello new liver and new Dan. It’s been quite a journey, and we can’t wait to see you and the family.
Love to all the Dickinsons, one wonderful Family!

haha this is awesome!! I am so excited… my big sis is giving me part of her liver in 3 weeks! I asked our transplant surgeon if we could have pictures, he said sure, just give one of the nurses a disposable camera… and then he said when I am coherent enough I can see my liver and gallbladder they removed! Ew, but he told us he had one patient who took her liver home… kept it in the freezer for a long time…. Anyways, I have enjoyed reading all your posts, thanks for blogging about your journey!
