4 times a charm

Laurie and Annie here posting for Dan D. Our family is at Northwestern right now and we have a liver on the way. We know that it is a young donor, that it is being flown in, and that the liver is a perfect match. At 1:30 they will begin prepping him for surgery and the actual surgery will start between 2-3. As expected, dad is totally calm and positive and playing on his IPad. He has the nurses laughing and has made it clear he wants a painless surgery. Nancy is doing great too, all in all the vibe here is very positive. We will update the blog with all progress. My whole family thanks you all for your support and are here if you call, email, or text. My cell is 847.414.0683. Please feel free to contact me for anything.

This is a great night for our family but we are very aware that this is likely a very hard day for the donor family. We are grateful beyond words to this family and to the donor who have made the very selfless decision to donate. Please keep both of our families in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

God bless the family that donated the liver. I’m so happy that all systems are go for the Dickinson Clan! Love, Carey
